The Miss Black Rock City 2004 Preliminaries
YOU MUST COMPLETE THE PRELIMINARIES ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 2ND AT 3:30PM IN ORDER TO BE A FINALIST IN THE MAIN EVENT! The Prelims are open to all, with 10 finalists (and five alternates) moving on to the main competition on Friday, September 3. In order to compete in this event, you must have a title beginning with the prefix of "Miss", and you must have a sash that states this title! If you cannot make a sash, Paula of Dumb Clothing is hosting a Sash Making Workshop on Tuesday afternoon at the SmoochDome in Asylum.

This massive event will involve the theme camps of Asylum functioning as one unit, bringing you the best experience we can! Each camp is responsible for coming up with a task for contestants to complete before moving on to the next camp. Groups of ten contestants will spend ten minutes at each camp in the village, dancing on tables, identifying car parts... the future Miss Black Rock City 2004 must be prepared for *anything*!

Contestants will be marked by the theme camp judges. These marks will be tallied at the end of the event. The 10 finalists and five alternates will be announced on spot! Check out the schedule  for a list of participating camps.

Those who complete the Preliminary event, but are not chosen to be Finalists on Friday, are invited to participate in the Main Event by parading their Dust Storm Wear and Formal Playa Wear ensembles in between these sections of the event, on stage!

VOLUNTEER FOR THE MISS BLACK ROCK CITY PROJECT!  Several guides are needed for the prelims, helping groups of Self-Proclaimed Beauty Queens through the process.   This is similar to being a greeter, except you get to hang out with the contestants, and get to know them a bit.  What fun!   Show up at 3pm the day of the event, or contact StacycatS at MissBlackRockCity@hotmail.com for more info.
